Shūichi Kusamori created this drawing for his graphic novel Fuyu no Ō (jp.: 冬の王, engl.: The Winter King), published by Graphic-Sha, Tokyo in 2018. The book is inspired by the story Erling (Berlin: S. Fischer, 1911) by German writer Hans Land, translated into Japanese in 1912 by Mori Ōgai under the title Fuyu no Ō.
The drawing was initially planned to be the spread 84/85 of the book but finally ended on spread 88/89.
