Art for Animation: Shūichi Kusamori
Riekeles Gallery presented the first solo exhibition of Japanese anime art director Shūichi Kusamori, featuring original pencil drawings for his graphic novel Fuyū no Ō (The Winter King), four new paintings inspired by China Miéville's Perdido Street Station, and Solegraph Editions of artwork from Innocence, Ghost in the Shell and Metropolis.
Art for Animation: Kosuke Hayashi
Riekeles Gallery presented the first solo exhibition in Germany dedicated to a Japanese anime background artist. Kosuke Hayashi, currently at Studio Ghibli, is renowned for his hand-painted style, and the show featured his background art for In This Corner of the World and The Boy and the Heron alongside personal works shown publicly for the first time.
