Stefan Riekeles

Stefan Riekeles is the founder of Riekeles Gallery, which was established in 2021 to provide collectors with high-end reproductions of anime artwork.

About Us:

At Riekeles Gallery, we are passionate about animation background art. Our founder, Stefan Riekeles, is an author and avid researcher who has written two books on the subject: "Anime Architecture" (Thames & Hudson, 2020) and "Proto Anime Cut Archive" (Kehrer, 2011). With his expertise and passion for the art form, Riekeles Gallery is dedicated to providing collectors with the highest quality anime artwork available, ensuring that collectors can own a piece of anime history.

Why Choose Reproductions?

A signed print is the best way to guarantee that you are collecting the work of a specific artist. Cels and other artwork available on the secondary market are typically not signed or approved for sale by their creators, and it's often difficult to verify their authenticity. At Riekeles Gallery, all of our reproductions are held to the highest standards and are approved by the artists themselves before being made available for purchase. By doing so, we aim to create a direct connection between anime creators and collectors of their work, ensuring the highest level of quality and authenticity.

Our Partnerships:

Riekeles Gallery has developed a robust network of personal contacts with artists, producers, and licensing partners, allowing us to offer exclusive collectibles and behind-the-scenes insights into the anime industry.

We work closely with Eizo Workshop in Japan, an organization dedicated to archiving and showcasing media art, film, and photography. Founded by Noriyuki Kimura (artist and video producer) and Hiroko Myokam (curator and media art researcher) in 2018, Eizo Workshop is a trusted partner of Riekeles Gallery, helping us to bring unique and high-quality collectibles to our customers.
